Conservation
Pelagic foundation
Al’s Vision
Our oceans are under every increasing pressure and as a passionate angler I am on a mission to change things for the better. I want to see fish stocks flourishing and the best way to do this is through education. With education comes understanding and appreciation, which in turn leads to a need to protect. We can’t protect it if we don’t understand it.
Anglers are true conservation. The best way to protect our aquatic environments is by giving it value and sportfishing is the perfect avenue. Lockouts aren’t the answer instead we need to educate how to enjoy without destroying.
Balanced Approach for the future
We need a realistic balance between commercial, recreational and environmental groups that results in sustainable fishing practice. At the end of the day we still need to cater for the increasing demand for seafood as the world’s population skyrockets. The key to better management is a better understanding of our big fish which will be achieved through research. Electronic tagging programs will open the secret worlds of pelagics species
This foundation is all about getting researchers and anglers working closer together, combine resources for better results.
